Jacques joined PPC’s Lime Division in 1995 after gaining experience in the gold mining industry. He has served on executive committees of the lime, aggregate and cement divisions; and as board member of various subsidiary companies. He joined the PPC International management team as Executive Commercial during February 2013, and was a member of the PPC Business Development team since 2010. Before joining the Business Development team Jacques fulfilled the role of Executive, Group Finance. A chartered accountant by profession, he has a BAcc degree, and two Hons BCom degrees.
Hardie holds a B Eng (Mechanical) degree from the University of Stellenbosch (SA) and a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa. He is also the holder of Government Certificates of Competency for both Mines and Factories under the two separate sets of legislation in South Africa. He has extensive experience in industry having worked in the petro-chemical, the defence and the aluminium industries for large global industrials such as Shell & BP and BHP Billiton. He joined PPC in 1996 and was appointed as Engineering Manager at the De Hoek plant in 1997. From 2002 he held various positions of General Manager at the PPC Riebeeck, PPC Slurry and PPC Dwaalboom plants before being appointed as Head Group Technical Services at the Head Office in 2010. In August 2013 he was appointed in his current position and has been instrumental in the progress following the CIMERWA investment in Rwanda. During the period October to December 2013 he was seconded and appointed to the position of Acting CEO for CIMERWA during the recruitment process of the new CEO. He was appointed to the Board of Cimerwa at the annual general meeting on 16 May 2014 and is also the Chairman of the Operations and Technical Sub-committee.
