PPC WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY

1. Introduction

PPC Limited ("PPC") is committed to ensuring the protection and confidentiality of all Personal Information in our possession. We provide this Privacy Policy (“the Policy”) to help you to understand what we may do with any Personal Information that we obtain from you. Your provision of your Personal Information to us constitutes your acceptance of the Policy and you agree that we may collect, use and disclose your Personal Information as described in the Policy. If you do not accept this, please do not provide your personal details and information to us. The Policy should be read with PPC’s Protection of Personal Information Policy (“POPI Policy”) which can be accessed on PPC’s website via the link www.ppc.africa.

2. Collection of Personal Information

For certain services or activities on PPC’s website you may provide us with information that constitutes Personal Information which you acknowledge is provided freely and voluntarily. You may choose to provide us with Personal Information if, for example, you contact us with an enquiry and submit a Contract Form; you register on the Procurement or Vendor Portal; you participate in any initiative, fill out a survey or other form with your Personal Information; you request us to provide you with information; you enter a competition or take advantage of a promotion. We use this Personal Information with your consent and will only use this information for achieving the purpose for which the Personal Information was provided. When visiting our website, we also collect certain information such as your IP address, which web pages you visit, device category, browser, and type of internet browser, clicks and views (this is done by means of cookies, which are described later in this document). We use this Personal Information as it is necessary in our legitimate interests to do so to be able to promote our products and services to our customers and website visitors to improve the sale of our products and services.

3. Disclosure of Personal Information to third parties

We may need to share Personal Information to third parties such as our service providers and subcontractors, including our affiliates, retained to perform functions on our behalf or to provide services to us, such as marketing and advertising; data processing; software development; digital platform hosting and management; information technology; legal, accounting, audit and other professional service providers. Such service providers do not collect, use or disclose the Personal Information for any purpose other than to perform such functions or to provide services to us or as otherwise required by law. Your use of our website indicates your acceptance of the Policy. In the event of a sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of substantial assets, financing or reorganisation, we may transfer, sell, or assign to third parties information concerning your relationship with us, including personally identifiable information that you provide and other information concerning your relationship with us. We may also need to use or disclose Personal Information if permitted by law or required to do so by law or where we believe such action is necessary in order to detect, protect or defend us and/or other third parties against error, negligence, breach of contract, theft, fraud and other illegal or harmful activity, to comply with our audit and security requirements, and to audit compliance with or corporate policies, procedures, legal and contractual obligations. Third parties may reside outside of South Africa and by submitting your Personal Information you agree to the transfer your Personal Information to locations outside of South Africa and the use of your Personal Information in such locations. When Personal Information is disclosed to third parties, including third parties outside of South Africa, we require these third parties to adopt the same level of security that we use to ensure the protection and confidentiality of Personal Information.

4. Data Security

We will take all reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect Personal Information collected through the website from misuse, or unlawful or unauthorised access, processing destruction or manipulation. We have put in place appropriate electronic procedures to safeguard the information we collect. You are responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality of your account password and you are responsible for any activity under your account and password. However, no internet-based site is completely secure and we cannot be held responsible for any unauthorised access that is not within our control. In the unlikely event that we believe that the security of your Personal Information in our possession or control may have been compromised, we may seek to notify you of that development. If a notification is appropriate, we would endeavour to do so promptly under the circumstances, using any contact details you provided.

5. Retention of Personal Information

We will retain records of Personal Information for the period necessary or for as long as legally required, in achieving the purpose for which the Personal Information was collected, such as to provide you with the requested products or services you requested or for other activity such entering a competition or taking advantage of a promotion. We will take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that all Personal Information remains confidential and is not distributed to unauthorised third parties. After we are no longer authorised to retain the Personal Information, we will ensure that it is destroyed, deleted and/or de-identified in a manner that prevents its reconstruction in an intelligible form.

At your request, where the law requires us to do so, we will confirm what Personal Information we hold about you, update your information, remove your information and/or correct any inaccuracies in such Personal Information. 7. Cookies

We use "cookies" to help us gather and store information about visitors to our website. A cookie is a small data file that our server sends to your internet browser when you visit the digital platform through your computer, tablet or smartphone. The use of cookies helps us to assist your use of certain aspects of our website. You can delete cookies at any time or you can set your browser to reject or delete cookies.
